In 1769 a battle happened between France and Corsica named “ The Battle Of Ponte Novu’’ and in this battle Corsica lost and Corsica became a territory of France. .Napoleon's father was a Corsican lawyer who had supported the freedom fighters, but after they lost, Pasquale Paoli fled the country and Napoleon’s father changed sides, joining the French rulers.
